RAW VEGAN YOGHURT! Yes, it can be done :D

Raw Vegan Yoghurt recipe

So you're either raw-vegan, vegan or just thinking about living a more raw-vegan-ish livestyle in general BUT you are addicted to dairy products like yoghurt, icecream and so many others that are just oh-so-yummy and hard to say good-bey to... This can only be before you discovered the loads and loads of delicious alternatives for dairy products that are out here on the internet :) So of course I am delighted to present you with YET another one ;) (that just happens to be veeeeeery yummy as well ;)))

This little treat can be eaten either as a breakfast or dessert (or anything inbetween ;))

Not only is this raw vegan yoghurt a little protein bomb, thanks to the sprouts - it is also bursting with vitamins and anti-oxidants, so it has the benefits of a dairy product but - really - actually it is a lot better hahaha! Sprouts are incredible sources of minerals, trace minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, enzymes,  protein and chlorophyll. They contain little or no fat and are low in calories. The fat they do contain is the healthy kind that your body needs and uses without storing it 'on' your belly or anywhere else. I will write another blog dedicated to sprouts (and growing your own) soon! :D

For 2 portions (sized as the one in the picture above) you need:

- 1 cup of nutmilk (I prefer almond) or coconut milk, either store-bought or homemade
- 1/2 cup of mild tasting sprouts, either store bought or home-grown
- 1 banana
- 1/2 avocado (keep the 'other half' for the serving suggestion)
- 1/4 cup of pumpkinseeds (pre-soaked for at least one hour)
- a small handfull of raspberries, or any other fruit of your fancy (blueberries/banana/apple/pineapple)

Optional:

- 1 teaspoon of maplesirop
- a pinch of sesame-seeds

How to make your basic vegan yoghurt:

Pour the nutmilk, sprouts, banana and avocado into a blender and blend untill smooth.
As easy as 1-2-3 there is your raw vegan yoghurt :) The sprouts will give it its unique dairy-ish construction, close to yoghurt or curd (if you choose to use some more) - it is fresh but creamy at the same time. For more variations on this keep on reading below the next picture :)

To serve as shown in the picture:

1) Buy yourself or your loved one a nice big orchid similar to the one in the picture so you   can 'serve' it right next to it ;) Of course this is optional but it certainly won't do any harm ;)

2) Poor a bit of the yoghurt into a glass up to 1/3rd - then sprinkle half of the pre-soaked pumpkinseeds and half of your favourite fruit on top of that, then poor some more of the yoghurt and repeat once more, ending with the rest of your soaked seeds and fruits on top.
Then if you like, you can place some slices from the 'other' half of the avocado on top of that and add the maplesirop and sesameseeds (if you plan on using these) to finish it all off :)

 Bon appetit!

Now of course you can make lots of variations on this raw-vegan-yoghurt. Since this is typically one of those recipe's that lend themselves just perfectly for freestyling. I came up with a 'chai'-version (recipe will follow soon) and a lemon-version. The lemon-one is very easily done just by adding the juice of one fresh lemon and the grated lemonpeel of the skin mixed in with the original recipe :) Make sure you always use only organic lemons for this and even then, still rinse the peel with warm water before you use it. This one combines perfectly with some chopped up banana as a fruit on top of the soaked pumpkinseeds :)

Maybe you can come up with even more variations?
If you do, please share them with me and other readers in the comments on this blog :)

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!

Love yourself, each other and the world :)
